Created during the uncertainty of COVID-19 and shaped by treasured family summers, the work embodies endurance, presence, and the quiet restoration found at the shoreline.
Painted while immersed in salt water, the artist surrendered to tide, wind, and shifting light. The process embraced instability — allowing the environment itself to mark the surface. Through dynamic brushstrokes and expressive color, the avian form emerges not simply as subject, but as symbol: of recovery, of breath, of returning to oneself through the rhythm of nature.
